Describe your home:
Our home is 2,650 sq. ft. (4,000 sq. ft. including the finished basement) It has 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, an all season room and 2 over-sized garages.
How did you hear about Diyanni Homes?
We were at a home show and stopped to look at the floor plans on display. Ray Diyanni introduced himself to us and engaged us in conversation.
Why did you choose to build with Diyanni Homes?
We chose Diyanni Homes because when we spoke with other builders, the answer was always no. Diyanni Homes was able to accommodate every special request we had. They made our dream home a reality.
What was your experience working with Diyanni Homes?
From locating a lot to designing a floor plan that met our needs – we felt comfortable every step of the way! They helped out with every part of the process including helping us find a construction lender and matching us with a construction supervisor that worked well with us. The schedule went smoothly and we moved in on time. We loved building with Diyanni Homes and will do it again if we decide to move.
What surprised you most about the custom home building process?
How involved we were. We “built” a home 30 years ago with a local, well known builder, but we really had nothing to do with the process. With Diyanni Homes, we were kept informed every step of the way. If a question came up, we were consulted – no guessing or re-doing!
Were there any surprises in the building process? If so, how did Diyanni Homes help solve them?
When the lot was excavated, it filled with water. We were very concerned. Diyanni Homes had a specialized engineer that recommended a second sump pump. Now we’ve had no issues in our new home while other homes in our area have experienced water issues.
What is your favorite feature of your custom home?
Our favorite feature is the way our home functions. This past year, we’ve invited numerous people over. The space allows us to host friends and family exactly like we’d hoped. At Thanksgiving, we had 28 people seated in the dining room. We also invited over 80 people for a celebration brunch. Our home layout is functional for large crowds, exactly like we wanted it to be.
If there was one thing you could change, what would you do differently?
We would add a few more transom windows! Our new windows are great and have no air leaks.
Did the craftsmanship and quality of your home live up to your expectations?
The craftsmanship in our home is excellent. The trim work is everything we wanted!
Any advice to someone thinking of building a custom home?
Remember to put all your wishes in Diyanni’s expert hands and watch the magic happen! They took our wish list, translated it into a custom design and made it a reality!
